Employment for exercise physiologists is expected to increase by 13 percent, or 2,000 new positions, through 2026. Competition will be stiff for jobs due to the relatively small overall number of exercise physiologists employed nationwide. Employment of fitness instructions is expected to increase by 29,300 positions, or 10 percent, through 2026, the BLS notes.
